Fortissimo in mood for ‘Mayhem’

Barclay stars in Bell-penned Aussie laffer

HONG KONG — Hong Kong and Amsterdam-based sales company Fortissimo has picked up international rights to Australian helmer Paul Goldman’s black comedy, “Suburban Mayhem.”

Pic is in production in Sydney and Newcastle, Australia, with Emily Barclay (“In My Father’s Den”) in the lead as a manipulative 19-year-old murderer. Script is by tyro screenwriter Alice Bell.

Production is by Leah Churchill-Brown with Jan Chapman as executive producer.

“Mayhem” will be distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Icon Film Distribution. Investors are the Film Finance Corp. Australia, the New South Wales Film & Television Office and PMP Showtime.
