Davis vet Wills, CFP's Obst join new banner

Former Paramount Pictures co-president Tom Jacobson has tapped Monnie Wills VP of production and Oliver Obst director of development for his eponymous production banner.

Wills was director of development for Davis Entertainment, where he worked on “Behind Enemy Lines” and set up “Bulldog Dance” for Fox, “Sonic” for New Regency and an untitled Pop Warner project for ESPN. He previously worked at Matthew McConaughey’s jk livin shingle, where he set up projects at Warner Bros. for McConaughey to star in and produce.

Obst has been working for Christine Peters at her CFP Prods., where he was involved in setting up adaptations of Lynn Messina’s “Fashionistas” and Bill Mason’s “Confessions of a Master Jewel Thief” and feature versions of Midway videogames “Area 51” and “Fear and Respect.” He previously worked for Chuck Roven at Mosiac on “The Brothers Grimm” and “Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.”

Jacobson signed a first-look deal with Paramount in May, two years after becoming studio president. His first project under the deal will be sci-fier “The Demolished Man,” to be helmed by Andrew Dominik from a screenplay by Milo Addica.
