MIAMI — Buenos Aires-based production company Patagonik Film Group has tapped Gaul’s Celluloid Dreams as the international sales agent for Fabien Bielinsky’s “The Aura,” the helmer-scribe’s follow up to his 2001 smash hit “Nine Queens.”
“The Aura” stars Ricardo Darin, who headlined “Nine Queens.”
Bielinsky has again penned the script, about an epileptic taxidermist who obsessively plots out perfect crimes in his mind and is suddenly confronted with the possibility of committing one.
Production began last fall with an eye to making the spring-summer festival circuit.
“Aura” has been pre-sold to UGC in the U.K. and to Buena Vista Intl. (which owns a stake in Patagonik) for Latin America. Samuel Hadida, a co-production partner in “Aura” with his shingle Davis Films, will handle the release in France via distrib Metropolitan. Alta Classic has distrib rights in Spain.
Deal closed last week at the Berlin Film Festival.
