Yapo to helm thriller, begins shooting in January
Sandra Bullock is negotiating to star in “Premonition,” the Hollywood debut of German director Mennan Yapo (“Soundless”).
Drama is fully financed by Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park, with TriStar distributing. Shooting begins in January in Louisiana.
Bill Kelly script revolves around a woman who has a premonition that her husband will die in a car crash and sets out to prevent it.
The film will be produced by Amritraj, Jon Jashni, Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and Sunil Perkash.
Project is the third put into production at TriStar under prexy Valerie Van Galder. Matt Brodlie, recently appointed senior VP of acquisitions and production, will oversee the project for the division.
Bullock, whose deal should be completed shortly, is wrapping “Il Mare” with her “Speed” co-star Keanu Reeves. She is also starring as Harper Lee in the Doug McGrath-directed “Have You Heard?,” one of two pics about Truman Capote’s writing of “In Cold Blood.”
Hyde Park is coming off co-financing and producing “Shopgirl” and “Dreamer,” both of which will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Hyde Park produced the DreamWorks-distributed “Dreamer” with Tollin/Robbins.
