Britannia bash banks trio of presenters

Hopkins, MacLaine, Voight to hand out prizes

Anthony Hopkins, Shirley MacLaine and Jon Voight will be presenters at the British Academy of Film & Television Arts/Los Angeles Cunard Britannia awards.

Craig Ferguson, of CBS’ “The Late Late Show,” makes his second appearance as host for the 14th awards, to be presented during a gala dinner Nov. 10 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

As previously reported, Tom Cruise will receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia award for film; Elizabeth Taylor will be honored with the Britannia for international entertainment; and Mike Newell will receive the John Schlesinger Britannia for artistic excellence in directing.

Ronald Neame, the 94-year-old helmer-producer, will be honored with BAFTA/LA’s inaugural Cunard Britannia award for lifetime contribution to international film.

Neame is a founding member of BAFTA/LA; his credits include “The Poseidon Adventure,” “Meteor” and “The Odessa File.”
