'Eragon' to star Guillory, Irons and Malkovich

British model and thesp Sienna Guillory has landed the female lead in Fox 2000’s epic actioner “Eragon.”

The adaptation of the bestselling Christopher Paolini novel has just started lensing in Budapest under the helm of former Industrial Light and Magic visual effects expert Stefen Fangmeier.

Fantastical pic also stars Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich and Djimon Hounsou, with newcomer Ed Speleers to play the title character — an unlikely hero whose discovery of a dinosaur egg leads him to become a Dragon Rider who will determine the fate of his world.

Guillory will play the elven Arya, who served as the guardian of the dragon’s egg until her capture by imperial forces.

Peter Buchman adapted the script, which has been rewritten by Larry Konner and Mark Rosenthal.

John Davis and Wyck Godfrey are producing the pic via the Fox-based Davis Entertainment.
