European Film Promotion will bring eight up-and-coming filmmakers to next month’s AFI Fest in Los Angeles to showcase Europe’s emerging talent.
It’s the EFP’s second New Faces in European Cinema initiative. Delegation is backed by the Media Program of the European Union, EFP and several consulates in Los Angeles.
The new faces are Pavel Strnad, Czech Republic, producer of “Wrong Side Up”; Markus Selin, Finland, producer of “Addiction”; Christian Alvart, Germany, director of “Antibodies”; Ari Alexander Magnusson, Iceland, director of “Screaming Masterpiece”; Gijs van de Westelaken, the Netherlands, producer of “06/05 The Sixth of May”; Josef Fares, director of Sweden’s foreign-language Oscar entry “Zozo”; Ruxandra Zenide, Switzerland, director of “Ryna”; and Richard Bracewell, U.K., director of “The Gigolos.”
The AFI Fest Village is in Hollywood at Sunset and Vine. Event runs Nov. 3-13.
