Michael Bay has landed on “Molly’s World.”
In a move likely to jumpstart the long-in-development project, helmer has come onboard as a producer for the New Line psychological thriller through his Platinum Dunes shingle.
Bay’s partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are also taking producing duties, along with David Greathouse, who first brought the script by Neil Marshall Stevens to the studio over three years ago.
New Line co-chairman Bob Shaye had been considering directing “Molly’s World” but has since backed out. Producers are currently looking for a helmer.
Story concerns a psychiatrist who gets drawn into the world of a patient who killed her family in an effort to protect them from a supernatural element.
Stokely Chaffin and Cale Boyter are overseeing for New Line.
Bay is currently shooting “The Island” for DreamWorks and WB.
