Lamba new topper for marketing, new-media development
NEW YORK — Dimension Films has tapped Sanjeev Lamba, former veep of marketing and international for Buena Vista Games, as exec VP of marketing and new-media development.
Based in Gotham, exec will report to Bob Weinstein.
At Dimension, the genre arm of Bob and Harvey Weinstein’s the Weinstein Co., Lamba will oversee online and new-media marketing for theatrical and homevid rollouts and will bolster new business with retailers and electronic game companies.
Exec will also be involved with promotions for the Weinstein Co. and work with Bob Weinstein on marketing Dimension’s slate.
Gary Faber and Matthew Cohen were recently named co-heads and exec veeps of marketing for TWC.
Prior to his post at Buena Vista Games — the vidgame unit of the Walt Disney Co. — Lamba was based in Hong Kong and Tokyo in marketing and licensing positions for Disney Consumer Products.
At Buena Vista, exec worked on game properties stemming from such pics as “The Incredibles,” “Finding Nemo,” “Spy Kids” and “Chicken Little.”
TWC’s slate includes “Scary Movie 4,” John Madden’s “Killshot,” the animated project “Hoodwinked!” and Johnny Depp starrer “The Libertine.”
