Warner’s flocking to ‘Knox’

Actioner taken for ride by Thunder Road

Warner Bros. has bought “Fort Knox,” the action-heist pitch by Charles Segars, and set it up with Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road Films.

Iwanyk and Segars will produce, and Segars’ producing partner Jeff Phillips will exec produce. Lynn Harris and Matt Reilly are overseeing for Warner Bros. “Fort Knox” is described as the working title.

Warners is seeking a writer on the pic. Segars and Kristi Felton brought the idea to Thunder Road through Mary Viola.

Segars was an exec producer and received a story credit on “National Treasure,” the idea of which was hatched in 1998 by Segars, director Jon Turteltaub and Disney marketing head Oren Aviv.

Segars partnered in 2003 with Dean Devlin to acquire the remake rights to “The Doberman Gang” films, and is also producing “Unnatural History” for Disney, “Bet the Farm” for Sony Animation and “No Man’s Land” for DreamWorks Pictures.
