Christopher Walken will star opposite Adam Sandler in the upcoming laffer “Click” for Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios, directed by Juan Jose Campanella.
“Click,” penned by Steve Koren and Mark O’Keefe (“Bruce Almighty”) centers on a workaholic architect who finds a universal remote that allows him to fast-forward and rewind to different parts of his life. Complications arise when the remote starts to overrule his choices.
Deal’s not final for Walken, who will next be seen in New Line’s “The Wedding Crashers.” In “Click,” he’ll play a mysterious man who gives the Adam Sandler character the remote. Production is expected to start in early summer.
Pic is jointly produced by Sandler’s Happy Madison shingle and Neal Moritz’s Original Film, which brought the project to Sony. Sandler, his Happy Madison partner Jack Giarraputo and Moritz are producing.
Sandler and Campanella first clicked three years ago, when Col optioned the English-language remake rights to Sony Pictures Classics’ Argentine film “The Son of the Bride,” which Campanella wrote and directed.
