Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson will star in “Super Ex,” a romantic comedy Ivan Reitman will direct for Regency Enterprises.
Script, by Don Payne (“The Simpsons”), has Thurman playing a superhero who falls for a regular guy. He’s OK with her superhuman abilities but can’t take her neediness. When he dumps her, she uses her powers to turn the guy’s life into a nightmare.
“Super Ex” will shoot in New York this fall. Gavin Polone-produced pic was fast-tracked once Reitman began eyeing it as his first comedy directing assignment since 2001’s “Evolution.”
Last seen in the “Kill Bill” pics and “Be Cool,” Thurman takes the job after wrapping two films Universal will release this fall. She stars with Meryl Streep in the Ben Younger-directed comedy “Prime” and plays the receptionist Ulla in the screen version of Broadway hit “The Producers,” which U bows Dec. 21.
