Deal marks first biz at this year's fest

NEW YORK — ContentFilm Intl. has snapped up all overseas rights to “Transamerica,” which made its North American debut at the Tribeca Film Festival Sunday.

Move marks the first bit of biz at the Gotham fest this year.

Pic, from writer-helmer Duncan Tucker, stars Felicity Huffman, Kevin Zegers, Fionnula Flanagan, Graham Greene and Elizabeth Pena in a story of a conservative transsexual who learns that she fathered a son before making the decision to become a woman.

Belladonna Prods.’ Linda Moran and Rene Bastian produced along with Sebastian Dungan. William H. Macy exec produced.

North American rights to the film are still up for grabs through reps Sue Bodine and Andrew Hurwitz.

Pic previously played the Berlin Film Festival.

Content will offer the pic in Cannes, where the unit will also be repping Gael Garcia Bernal vehicle “The King,” which screens in Un Certain Regard.
