Same ‘Bat’ time for Imax

Simultanous release planned for June 17

Marking its eighth film commitment to the Imax Corp., Warner Bros. has inked a deal to release “Batman Begins” simultaneously in Imax and conventional 35mm theaters on June 17.

Helmed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale, pic explores the origins of Batman and his alter ego Bruce Wayne’s emergence as a force for good in Gotham City.

Pic will be digitally remastered into the appropriate format and released in Imax theaters as “Batman Begins: The Imax Experience.”

Additional Imax and WB collaborations include the upcoming “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” installments of the “Harry Potter” and “Matrix” franchises, “NASCAR 3D: The Imax Experience,” “Catwoman” and “The Polar Express.”

WB will be the exclusive distributor of “Batman Begins” to Imax theaters worldwide.
