Establishing a film promotion beachhead in Europe, PMK/HBH will open its first London office by spring. Chair-CEO Pat Kingsley is in talks to acquire an existing agency.
Kingsley is eyeing established praiseries Premier PR and McDonald Rutter as prime acquisition candidates.
PMK/HBH would not comment on which agency its parent company, InterPublic Group, will ultimately acquire, but Kingsley confirmed the agency’s overseas aspirations.
“As our company continues to expand, we feel it is important to have a permanent office on the international scene,” Kingsley said. “We intend to have our London office established by May 1.”
PMK/HBH, which has offices in Hollywood and New York, will be the first among the major U.S.-based showbiz PR companies to establish a full-service European headquarters in the U.K. Aside from a list of Brit-based celeb clients from Jude Law to Sam Mendes, Kate Winslet and Gwyneth Paltrow, PMK/HBH wanted a European branch from which to launch overseas campaigns for its film releases.
Led by Kingsley and partners Simon Halls, Stephen Huvane and Robin Baum, PMK/HBH is the largest celebrity rep agency, with upward of 400 celeb clients in its fold.
