Keri Russell and Thomas Kretschmann will star in the psychological thriller “Butterfly, A Grimm Love Story.” Marco Weber’s Atlantic Streamline will produce and finance the pic.
Musicvid helmer Martin Weisz will make his feature bow with the pic, which draws its story from the recent Internet cannibal scandal in Germany.
The movie centers on an American grad student who finds she falls apart while researching the life of a cannibal killer. T.S. Faull wrote the script.
Russell will next be seen in “The Upside of Anger.” Kretschmann’s credits include “The Pianist” and “King Kong.”
Weber will produce with Andreas Schmid and Vanessa Coifman, Streamline’s executive VP of production.
The film will be shot entirely in Germany, with production beginning next week.
Atlantic Streamline productions include “The Thirteenth Floor” and “Igby Goes Down.”
