Screenwriters Scott Frank and Dan McDermott have qualified as candidates for the eight open seats on the WGA West’s board of directors.
Frank and McDermott became candidates via member petitions.
Incumbents Peter Lefcourt, Don M. Mankiewicz, Melissa Rosenberg, Tim O’Donnell and Robert King were named last month by the nominating committee as candidates, along with Eric Heisserer, Gary Ross, Mike Langworthy, Doug Eboch, Art Eisenson, Phil Alden Robinson, Tom Schulman, Dan Wilcox, Joan Meyerson, Howard A. Rodman and Steve Chivers.
Results will be announced Sept. 20.
Frank, who won a WGA screenwriting award in 1999 for “Out of Sight,” recently signed to write and direct “The Lookout” for Disney and Spyglass, while McDermott is penning “The Omen 666” for Fox.
