ROME — Actor Haley Joel Osment will attend the 35th Giffoni Intl. Film Festival for Children & Young People on July 17.
Osment, who received an Oscar nomination at age 11 for “The Sixth Sense,” will talk about his projects to the 6- to 19-year-olds who will be the fest’s judges.
This year’s edition will be based on the theme “Emotions.” Thirty features and 28 shorts will compete in four categories divided by age groups.
Founding fest topper Claudio Gubitosi said the theme was chosen “because we find ourselves in difficult times … of war, of horror, of terror and of lack of faith and loss.”
Fest opens July 16 with the Italo preem of “Herbie: Fully Loaded.”
The event, which held its first edition in Los Angeles in April, closes July 23.
