Nykanen bio rolls

World Brief

Five-time ski-jumping Olympic medalist Matti Nykanen, whose private life provided as much fodder for the scandal sheets as his winter athletics, is the subject of a biopic that will start lensing Tuesday.

“Matti” will be helmed by Aleksi Makela, who continues his longtime collaboration with producer Markus Selin’s Solarfilms. Selin produced Makela’s earlier hits “Hajyt” (The Tough Ones) and “Pahat pojat” (Bad Boys).

Nykanen has been a mainstay in Finnish scandal sheets for the past 15 years. His second divorce sold more copies of tabloids than the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“Matti” is skedded for a Jan. 13 release.
