Kevin Costner and Hilary Swank have completed the narration of “On Native Soil,” a documentary about 9/11.
Directed by news producer Linda Ellman, the docu uses the 9/11 Commission Report as a way to focus on the terrorist attack and the systemic flaws that allowed it to happen. The film also replays the story through the eyes of the survivors and their families.
Pic was put together by Ellman and producer Jeff Hays, and Peter Schlessel and Stan Wertlieb came aboard as consultants. The goal is to get a late 2005 theatrical release.
The docu comes as ABC readies a 9/11 miniseries, Paramount fast-tracks an untitled 9/11 feature to be directed by Oliver Stone, and Columbia preps a Billy Ray-scripted adaptation of “102 Minutes.”
