MK2 builds ‘Bridge’ to Akin pic

Outfit takes all Gallic rights to Istanbul music scene pic

France’s MK2 has purchased all French rights to “Crossing the Bridge — The Sound of Istanbul,” a doc from last year’s Berlin Golden Bear and European Film Award winner Fatih Akin (“Head-On”).

Akin’s take on Istanbul’s music scene, “Crossing the Bridge” plays out of competition at Cannes.

Bavaria Film has also sold the pic to Greece (Rosebud) and Turkey (R-Film).

Bavaria has sold “Mongolian Ping Pong” and Oskar Roehler’s “Agnes and his Brothers” to First Run for the U.S. and English-speaking Canada, and Argentinean Carlos Sorin’s downbeat drama “Bombon — El Perro” to Venevision for the U.S.

ICA Projects has taken U.K. rights to “Sophie Scholl — The Final Days,” which won Julia Jentsch best actress at Berlin.
