Lakeshore Entertainment has offered a salute to “Barking Orders,” snapping up Scott Sommer’s family comedy spec and setting it up to be produced by chairman-CEO Tom Rosenberg, president Gary Lucchesi and Craig Berenson.

Plot details of the high-concept project are being kept under wraps. Project was brought in by VP of acquisitions & co-productions, Bic Tran.

Sommer is writing “Open Season 2” for Sony Animation and has set up “Daniel Boone” at Fox. Berenson’s producing “Snakes on a Plane” for New Line.

Lakeshore, a producer on “Million Dollar Baby,” has a quartet of films due for release later this year — “The Cave,” directed by Bruce Hunt and due out in August by Screen Gems; “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” due out from Screen Gems in September; “Undiscovered,” to be released in August by Lions Gate; and Len Wiseman’s “Underworld Evolution,” the sequel to Lakeshore’s “Underworld,” set for a December release by Screen Gems.
