Jets zoom over Cannes

'Figthers' pic helmed by 'Taxi' driver Pires

The French Air Force’s ‘Patrouille de France” aerobatic Alphajets will zoom over Cannes Saturday to promote the Euros 23 million Gallic actioner “Sky Fighters”.

Pic being sold by France’s Pathe Intl. has just been picked up by UIP for Japan, Germany’s 3L and China’s Tang Media, the latest in a dozen distribution deals secured so far.

A Gallic “Top Gun” complete with heart-stopping stunts, movie helmed by Gerard Pires, the helmer of the first “Taxi” film, stars Benoit Magimel, Clovis Cornillac, Geraldine Pailhas and Alice Taglioni.

In post, pic was produced by Eric Altmeyer of Mandarin Films and Laurent Brochand of Outsider Prods. Pathe will distribute the pic theatrically in France.

As part of Saturday’s publicity drive, cast will climb the red carpet for the gala screening of “Hidden” and later appear on Canal Plus’ live evening show broadcast from Cannes.
