Indie ‘Dust’ takes Kate

Bosworth signs for 'Seasons'

Kate Bosworth is set to star in “Seasons of Dust,” a Depression-era drama written and to be directed by Tim Blake Nelson. Pic will shoot in August in Oklahoma, financed by Ascendant Pictures and Capital Films.

Bosworth will play a farm girl whose world is turned upside-down when her father abruptly leaves.

Ascendant’s Christopher Eberts will produce, and Joel and Ethan Coen are exec producers.

Nelson, who directed “O” and “The Grey Zone,” gave his script to Eberts while acting in the Ascendant comedy “The Big White.” Eberts organized the financing and will handle making a domestic distribution deal. Nelson brought on the Coens, for whom he starred in “O Brother Where Art Thou.”
