Hot Docs hops to programmer

Farnel named fest's director of programming

TORONTO — The Hot Docs Canadian Documentary Festival has tapped Sean Farnel to the newly created post of director of programming.

Farnel joins Hot Docs from the Toronto Film Festival Group, where he was hired as that org’s first dedicated documentary programmer in 2000.

He will apply his international docu expertise to the 100-plus films in Hot Docs’ official competition and retrospective programs and in its professional development industry programming.

Hot Docs’ 13th edition runs April 28-May 7.
