Festival provides outlet for fringe pics

The Hollywood Film Festival has retained its alliance with Film Threat and its founder, Chris Gore, as part of the upcoming fest’s focus on the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres.

Gore noted that the Oct. 18-24 event will provide an outlet for genre films often left out of festivals.

“How will we discover the next Peter Jackson if festivals do not support young filmmakers who create fantastic visions?” he said.

Gore is the author of “The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide.”
