Gotham production banner GreeneStreet Films will finance romantic comedy “The Pleasure of Your Company,” starring Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher.
Pic — skedded to lense next month in Gotham — was penned by funnyman Michael Ian Black, who will helm.
Plot follows Biggs as a guy convinced he’ll never find love again who spontaneously proposes to a waitress after he is dared to by a pal.
GreeneStreet will produce, along with Fugitive Films’ Jamie Gordon, and Courtney Potts and Sam Hoffman.
GreeneStreet prexy John Penotti, who runs the entity with partner Fisher Stevens, described the pic as having a John Hughes tone, adding, “We have been looking to make a modestly budgeted comedy and Michael has provided us the opportunity to do this with such an original project.”
Black is the co-creator of skeins “Stella,” “Viva Variety” and “The State.” He was a series regular on NBC’s “Ed.”
Biggs’ upcoming credits include Saul Metztein’s black comedy “Guy X.”
GreeneStreet is co-financing with the Weinstein Co. the upcoming thriller “Awake.” The company’s “Romance and Cigarettes” and “Slow Burn” recently unspooled at the Toronto Film Festival.
