‘Faith’ finds Artistic release

Distrib will bow docu next month in Gotham

NEW YORK — Indie distrib Artistic License Films has snapped up the Kirby Dick-helmed docu “Twist of Faith” from HBO.

Pic follows the story of a Midwestern firefighter confronting his childhood sexual abuse at the hands of a Catholic priest.

Eddie Schmidt produced the project, which premed in competition at Sundance and was an Oscar docu nominee earlier this year.

Distrib, headed by Sande Zeig, will bow the pic next month in Gotham.

“I’ve known Sande for years and am a great admirer of her work on behalf of independent films,” said Dick, whose credits include the docu “Chain Camera,” among others.

“We hope that the theatrical release of ‘Twist of Faith’ will bring much needed attention to this ongoing crisis,” Dick added.

Artistic License’s slate also includes Mark Bamford’s “Cape of Good Hope.”
