New Line exec VP of production Stokely Chaffin has ankled the studio and set up shop as a producer with a first-look deal at her former employer.
New shingle, Stokely Chaffin Prods., has a two-year pact with New Line.
She’s taking 14 projects she oversaw at the mini-major with her and will now work as an executive producer on all of them.
Pics closest to production include Mike Figgis-helmed “Guilty Pleasures,” Greg Berlanti-helmed “Bridge and Tunnel,” and Kate Hudson starrer “Sleight of Mind,”
Since setting up shop recently, Chaffin helped to sell “Dream House” to Universal. She’s exec producing David Loucka spec with producers Daniel Bobker and Ehren Kruger.
She has also optioned Coerte Felke’s novel “Millennium Girl,” about a “gold-digging” woman in Manhattan. She’s producing with The Firm’s Julie Yorn.
Before joining New Line in 2001, Chaffin worked for eight years at Neil Moritz’s Original Films, where she produced pics including “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “Sweet Home, Alabama.”
While at New Line she worked on “Freddy vs. Jason” and next summer’s “Snakes on a Plane.”
She has established an office at the Henson Studios lot and tapped formed David Ladd Films story editor David Steinberg as her director of development.
