Elvis shakes up L.A. Film Fest

NPR critic will select a number of special screenings

Elvis Mitchell will serve as guest curator for the 2005 Los Angeles Film Festival, which runs June 16-26.

The former New York Times film critic will select a number of special screenings for the fest in addition to moderating discussions.

Mitchell, who said he’s been a longtime supporter of the fest, recently accepted a consulting post at Sony, where he’s acting as a scout for TriStar Pictures and other divisions. He’s also a visiting lecturer at Harvard U.

He continues to serve as an entertainment critic for NPR’s Weekend Edition with Scott Simon and as host for KCRW’s “The Treatment.”
