Production and sales banner Arclight has struck a deal with Korean banner Cineclick Asia to co-produce director Ekachai Uekrongtham’s next project, the supernatural thriller “The Coffin.”

Pic follows a young man who experiences a series of terrifying incidents after lying in a coffin for one night. Practice is a Thai custom to try to cheat death and rid oneself of bad luck.

Project will lens in September in Thailand and North America.

Companies are planning a first quarter roll-out next year.

Arclight and Cineclick are co-producers, with Cineclick handling sales for Asia and Arclight the rest of the world. Other co-producers include Thailand’s TIFA and Uemkrongthem’s Singapore-based Spicy Apple Films.

Uekrongtham’s credits include “Beautiful Boxer,” based on a famed Thai transsexual kick boxer.

Arclight’s slate also includes Renny Harlin’s “Run” and the Truman Capote biopic “Every Word is Tru.”
