Constellation starts ‘Job’

Shingle to produce five pix a year with budgets under $20 mil

Brad Michael Gilbert has launched Gotham and Los Angeles-based financing and production company Constellation Entertainment.

Funded with private equity, Constellation plans to produce five pics a year with budgets under $20 million. Foreign representation will go through Hyde Park Intl.

Constellation’s first production will be noir thriller “The Night Job,” to star Ray Liotta and Marisa Tomei and to be directed by John McNaughton (“Wild Things”) from a screenplay by James O’Hanlon. Production is scheduled to begin in August.

Also upcoming are “Widow’s Walk,” a supernatural thriller to be directed by Brad Anderson (“The Machinist”) from a screenplay by Will Conroy; and “Misfortune,” a psychological thriller written and directed by Adam Prince, and executive produced by Robert Duvall.

Michael Mailer will produce “The Night Job” and “Widow’s Walk” with Gilbert.

Gilbert was previously partnered in the financing and production company Monument Pictures, which produced “South Central.”
