Duo pact for distribution
Arclight Films has become the exclusive international distrib for financing and production shingle Bold Films.
Founded by Edward Bass, Michel Litvak and Gary Michael Walters, Bold produces pics with budgets between $3 million and $15 million.
Arclight first paired with Bold on foreign rights to Bold’s debut production, dark comedy “Mini’s First Time.” That film stars Alec Baldwin, Luke Wilson and Nikki Reed.
Arclight will now rep Bold’s next title, romance “Come Early Morning,” which stars Ashley Judd and is in production.
Currently in prep are “Saturn’s Return to New York,” adapted and to be directed by Domenica Cameron-Scorsese, and “Rosa,” which will be directed by Marleen Gorris.
Arclight also announced the launch of a North American distribution company, Arclight Releasing, to be managed by former Artisan and Lions Gate acquisitions exec Paul Gardner.
Arclight Releasing will acquire programming for the North American sell-through DVD market. The company may also release films on a limited theatrical basis and service pay/cable broadcasters, VOD and pay-per-view.
Goal is to release between eight to 12 films in the first year, with 15 to 20 annually thereafter.
