‘Bench’ adds third warmer

'Dynamite' star joins the team

“Napoleon Dynamite” star Jon Heder is joining Rob Schneider and David Spade as the third hapless athlete in Revolution’s comedy “Benchwarmers,” being produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison shingle.

Story concerns three guys who try to make up for their lack of athleticism in school by forming a three-man baseball team to challenge youth teams.

Craig Kilborn and Jon Lovitz also star. Dennis Dugan is directing a script by Allen Covert and Nick Swardson.

Happy Madison brought the project to Revolution partner Todd Garner, who is overseeing it along with Revolution’s Derek Dauchy.

Heder just wrapped DreamWorks’ “Just Like Heaven,” in which he stars with Mark Ruffalo and Reese Witherspoon. He also has a voice role in Sony’s upcoming motion-capture pic “Monster House.”
