Winners announced for 32nd Student Academy Awards

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has announced 12 winners of its 32nd Student Academy Awards, who will be feted June 12 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater following a week of industry-related activities and events. Winners are:

“Knock Knock,” Jaron Henrie-McCrea, Ball State U., Ind.
“Your Dark Hair Ihsan,” Tala Hadid, Columbia U.

“9,” Shane Acker, UCLA
“Frog,” Christopher Conforti, School of Visual Arts, New York City
“Things That Go Bump in the Night,” Joshua G. Beveridge, Ringling School of Art and Design, Sarasota, Fla.

“The Life of Kevin Carter,” Dan Krauss, UC Berkeley
“Listen,” Kimby Caplan, Southern Methodist U.
“Unhitched,” Erin Hudson and Ben Wu, Stanford U.

“Charm,” Melissa Rossi, Florida State U. Film School
“Victoria para Chino,” Cary Fukunaga, NYU
“Wednesday Afternoon,” Alonso F. Mayo, American Film Institute, Los Angeles

Honorary Foreign Student Film Award
“The Runaway,” Ulrike Grote, U. of Hamburg
