Fiji: Island splashes out


15% cash subsidy on qualifying Fiji expenditure between F$50,000 ($29,350) and F$25 million ($15 million). Productions must spend 35% of total budget on islands for consideration; exception is expenditure budgeted over $25 million ($15 million). Films spending over that amount qualify regardless of the percentage of budget spent on the islands. Recent productions include “Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid,” “Straight Edge.”


Primarily on-location shooting, post-production completed in Sydney, Australia, or Auckland, New Zealand. Animation studio employs 75; presently working on “The Great North Pole Elf Strike” for Miramax. Other facilities and services are in development.
