WB soaring with ‘Angels’

Warner nabs teen horror laffer

NEW YORK — Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up teenage horror-comedy spec script “Absolute Angels,” written by Genevieve Jolliffe and Andrew Zinnes, for Jolliffe to helm in her U.S. directorial debut and first studio deal.

Story concerns a lonely goth girl who gets invited to join the high school cheerleading team only to learn the cheerleaders are actually a pack of vampires.

Mosaic’s Alex Gartner and Chuck Roven will produce.

Kevin McCormick and Jess Rosenthal are supervising the project for the studio.

Jolliffe, who comes from London, wrote and directed “Urban Ghost Story,” which was nominated for British Independent Film awards for director and film in 1998.
