Studio shuffle due to recent Rapaport move

John Hersker, Jim Orr and Tom Molen have been promoted to new positions in Paramount Pictures’ domestic distribution division.

The promotions are part of a restructuring due to the departure of 35-year Par veteran Steve Rapaport. Formerly executive VP of sales operations, Rapaport is now a consultant for the studio.

Hersker has been promoted to executive VP, distribution, and will report to Wayne Lewellen, president of Paramount theatrical distribution. With 26 years at Par, Hersker previously served as senior VP, assistant general sales manager.

Orr assumes the post of senior VP, distribution, and will report to Clark Woods, executive VP and general sales manager. He previously served as VP, Eastern division, since 1999. Orr began his career with Paramount in 1987 as a booker.

Molen is now VP for the Eastern division, reporting to Woods and overseeing Par’s New York sales office. He spent 16 years in a series of theatrical sales posts and four years in Par’s accounting department.
