LivePlanet to produce pic
Touchstone U.K. has set John Brownlow to write “The Hero,” an original pitch, which will be produced by Sean Bailey through LivePlanet.
Story concerns a British army officer who returns home for Christmas in 1916 only to find his holiday interrupted by a vengeful deserter out to kill him.
Jason Reed, Kristin Jones and Daniel Battsek will shepherd the pic.
LivePlanet has a three-year deal at Disney, and the shingle is prepping an adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s “Gone, Baby, Gone” as a directing vehicle for Ben Affleck, who wrote the script. LivePlanet is also producing “Solace,” a New Line drama scripted by Ted Griffin and Bailey.
Brownlow, best known for penning the Gwyneth Paltrow starrer “Sylvia,” is also writing “Species Human” for Universal.
