ThinkFilm drops coin for ‘Bomb’

Pic combines original material, bomber's home movies, Israeli army footage

ThinkFilm has acquired North American rights to Steven Silver and Andrew Quigley’s “Diameter of the Bomb,” a documentary that focuses on a suicide bombing in Jerusalem. Pic is screening in the Cannes market.

The pic follows Israeli police, secret service and military as they try to prevent the attack and track down the terrorist cell. In addition to original material, the pic combines footage from the Hamas military, the bomber’s home movies and forensic footage released for the first time by the Israeli army.

ThinkFilm VP Daniel Katz negotiated the deal with Heather Wyer, head of international sales for the National Film Board of Canada. ThinkFilm plans to release the film next year.

“Diameter of the Bomb” is co-produced by Paul Goldin and Georgina Townsley’s U.K.-based Rainmaker Films and Éric Michel and Claude Bonin of the NFB, with support from the World Doc Fund established by the NFB, the U.K. Film Council and the BBC.
