Tribeca calls 'Interpreter'

Sydney Pollack’s “The Interpreter” will open the fourth annual Tribeca Film Festival on April 19.

Starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn, pic is the story of an FBI agent assigned to protect an interpreter who overhears an assassination plot.

Shot on location in Manhattan and Africa, “The Interpreter” is the first film to receive inside access to the United Nations’ headquarters in Gotham.

Screening will be held at the Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan. Fest, co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, runs through May 1.
