'Khan' pic starts shooting in July in Far East
BERLIN — Picturehouse, HBO and New Line Cinema’s newly formed distribution venture, has picked up North American rights to Sergei Bodrov’s “Mongol — The Early Years of Genghis Khan.”
The co-production from Russia’s CTB and Germany’s X Filme also has sold to Lumiere for the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg, Hopscotch for Australia and New Zealand and Europa Films for Brazil.
Beta Cinema is handling international sales for the film, which begins shooting in July on location in the Far East.
X Verleih will release the pic in Germany.
