Paramount has named veteran Miramax exec Michelle Raimo senior VP of production.
Raimo, who is moving from New York to take the slot, will report to Par production co-prexys Brad Weston and Alli Shearmur. Weston cited Raimo’s development history and talent for identifying unique material while Shearmur cited her experience and valuable relationships.
Raimo began her career at Comedy Central and joined Miramax in 1995 as an assistant, rising through the development and production ranks to her most recent position as senior VP of development and production. She oversaw “Chocolat,” “The Shipping News” and “Ella Enchanted,” among other pics.
Hiring of Raimo is the latest development in Brad Grey’s revamp of Par’s exec suite, triggered by the March announcement that Fox Entertainment prexy Gail Berman would replace Donald De Line as his top exec. Production prexy Karen Rosenfelt has ankled and studio co-president Tom Jacobson has segued into a producing deal.
