Helmer gets 'Amusement' from New Line pic
Bernard Rose is signing on for some “Amusement.”
Marking his first studio pic in nearly a decade, the “Immortal Beloved” and “Candyman” helmer has been tapped to direct the New Line horror pic.
With Rose on board, “Amusement” is now skedded to start production early next year.
Jake Wade Wall script is told from the points-of-view of three different women who are made to suffer by a killer using their childhood grudge against them.
Neal Edelstein and Mike Macari (“The Ring”) are producing.
Rose most recently worked on indie pics “Ivansxtc,” an update of Tolstoy’s “The Death of Ivan Ilyich” set in Hollywood, and “Snuff-Movie,” about a horror director who re-creates a series of murders in the same house where they took place.
Cale Boyter, Merideth Finn and Swanna MacNair are overseeing for the studio.
