Taymor gets cozy with Revolution

Julie Taymor is attached to direct the musical “All You Need Is Love” for Revolution Studios.

Production is slated to begin in September for a Thanksgiving 2006 release.

Story concerns two star-crossed lovers in London in the 1960s and features 18 classic songs by the Beatles, including that of the pic’s title.

Pic is being produced by Matt Gross, who brought the project to Revolution’s Derek Dauchy. Dauchy is overseeing the project for the studio and serves as an exec producer.

Suzanne and Jennifer Todd of Team Todd (“Memento,” “Austin Powers”) have come on board as producers. Ben Haber is a co-producer.

“All You Need Is Love” was written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (“The Commitments”).

Taymor, who won two Tony Awards for “The Lion King,” also directed Miramax’s “Frida,” starring Salma Hayek, and “Titus,” with Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange.
