Paramount and MTV Films have signed a two-year first-look deal with Jamie Foxx and his producing partners, Jaime Rucker King and Marcus King.
Deal calls for the trio to develop, supervise, produce and consult on MTV Films and other Par features and for Foxx possible to appear in them.
MTV Films president Van Toffler cited MTV’s history with the trio. “Ever since ‘In Living Color,’ we have been huge Jamie Foxx fans and had a great time working with him, including his hosting the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards.”
Foxx is in production on Universal’s “Miami Vice” and is set to star opposite Beyonce Knowles in Bill Condon’s adaptation of “Dreamgirls,” co-financed by Par and DreamWorks. He will next be seen in U’s “Jarhead.”
Foxx’s deal is the seventh producing pact signed by Par since Brad Grey took over as chairman earlier this year. The others are Plan B (Brad Pitt), Watermark (Jessica Tuchinsky, Mark Waters), Tom Jacobson, Southern Cross the Dog (Stephanie Allaine, Craig Brewer), Kevin Misher and Blumhouse (Jason Blum).
