DreamWorks hires ‘CEO’ after pitch

'Live' scribe McKay developed pic with duo

DreamWorks has bought the pitch “CEO” by Ian Roberts and Jay Martel for Adam McKay to direct and produce.

Story concerns the chief exec of a company who is demoted to the mailroom and has to work his way back up.

Shauna Robertson (“Elf,” “Anchorman”) will also produce. John Fox will oversee the project for DreamWorks.

Former “Saturday Night Live” scribe McKay, who developed “CEO” with Roberts and Martel, last teamed with DreamWorks on “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” He’s also attached to Sony’s “Talladega Nights,” starring Will Ferrell, as a writer and director.

Roberts and Martel recently sold “Dad Can’t Lose” to Paramount for Will Arnett to star in. Joe and Anthony Russo will direct for producers Peter Principato and Paul Young.
