Fashion displays designs on H’w’d

Pics put their pretties on parade

Fashion and Hollywood merged downtown Saturday at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising’s salute to last year’s film costumes.

The 25 displays included Oscar-nominated designs from “The Aviator,” “Finding Neverland,” “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events,” “Ray” and “Troy,” in addition to “The Lord of the Rings” costumes from previous years.

“Ray” costume designer Sharen Davis said helmer Taylor Hackford had researched the musicians, but costumes were still a challenge, since many aud members were familiar with the period.

“And as it was an independent film; we had no budget,” Davis added.

Also on hand for the opening: “Lemony Snicket” designer Colleen Atwood.
