MIAMI — Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo has created a digital media division and has tapped Peter Blacker as senior VP, digital media.
Blacker joins Telemundo on July 11 from AOL Media Networks, where he is VP, multicultural & international.
He will report to Antoinette Zel, senior exec VP, network strategy.
The new division aims to extend programming and promotional activity to cell phones, iPods, and PCs. It will collaborate with NBC U’s new Digital Media Group on opportunities and practices.
Blacker will be responsible for unifying Telemundo’s interactive offerings including Telemundo.com, Mun2tv.com, and the seven Telemundo station Web sites as well as look for interactive extensions for key Telemundo programs.
He will also collaborate and partner with Telemundo’s sales teams.
