Niche net under pressure from digital rivals

LONDON — Satcaster BSkyB’s flagship entertainment channel Sky One has renewed contracts with Warner Bros. on “Nip/Tuck” and “Cold Case.”

Niche net, increasingly under pressure from digital rivals E4 and BBC3, has bought pay, free and basic-cable television rights for seasons three and four of plastic-surgery saga “Nip/Tuck” and crime show “Cold Case.”

“Nip/Tuck” is written and exec produced by Ryan Murphy. Season three will air in the U.S. this fall.

“Cold Case” is exec produced by Meredith Stiehm and Jerry Bruckheimer.
